Current Issue / From Digital Financial Capability to Investment Action: The Role of Financial Self-Efficacy in Gen Z's SIP Adoption in India
The paper investigates the influence of digital financial literacy on Generation Z's adoption of Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs) in India, with an emphasis on financial self-efficacy. The study's theoretical approach implies that digital financial literacy increases individuals' confidence in assessing financial information and making investment decisions, which may increase their intention to engage in SIP. The results show a positive relationship between digital financial capabilities, financial self-efficacy, and willingness to sip. Research shows that even when digital financial literacy is taken into account, financial self-efficacy remains a factor in the desire to use a Systematic Investment Plan (SIP). For the entire mediation, bootstrapped indirect-effect analysis is advisable. The findings from this study suggest that digital financial education should be integrated with programs that build confidence in making financial decisions. The research also indicates the importance of financial literacy. The SIP recommendations are particularly well-suited to building confidence in financial logic and to teaching in the digital financial arena. Conclusions rely on data authenticity and require further statistical validation, especially for mediation, construct validity, and predictive performance.
